Trade shows are an effective form of marketing for many businesses, and utilising banners at your booth can attract potential customers and increase your business’ reputation. Many companies already use a banner or two at their trade show table. In fact, some rely on a hanging banner in order to attract customers.

Your trade show booth location determines how many people actually see you. If you get stuck in a corner or near the end of the trade show, you may have people pass you by or those who have already made purchasing decisions and have no budget left to consider your product or service. Even though everyone at the trade show comes with a common interest in your industry, you still have to market what you’ve got in order to attract them to your booth.

Hanging Banners

If your booth is located in a corner, you can attract attention with a large, hanging banner with large lettering and an attractive color scheme. You want people to be able to see it from across the room. Since some trade shows can be quite crowded, you want to incite people to push through the crowd to get to your booth. When designing your banner, put pertinent information on it without giving it all away. You want customers to come to you with questions about your service or product, and banners are a great way to pique interest.

If you do decide to go with hanging banners, make sure you have something high to hang them on. If you hang it on a table or counter, only those people who make it to your booth will see it. You may consider setting up a show tent to attract attention.

Banner Displays

If your booth is a prime location, you want your display to stand out from the rest.

Consider using vertical banners propped up with display bars. This prevents your banner from swinging or swaying, making it harder to read. It also allows you to customize your display, putting your banner at the forefront or off to the side, depending on how you want to market your business. Some displays are complex, while others are pop-up displays that are easy to assemble and pack up. There are also different lighting options when using a display stand, which helps your sign to pop and draws attention to it.

If you have a horizontal banner that you want to display on a table or counter, you can use a frame to showcase it. This allows you to keep it off the floor and draws attention to the information on the sign. There are a number of ways to use banners when marketing at an expo, so make sure you research all your options before the next show.
